Program Notes:

Drawing from the industrial poetics of thermal treatment, this composition maps the annealing process onto the timbral and gestural capacities of brass, exploring zones where material resistance becomes sonic revelation. Pitch bends function as traces of molecular reorganization, each slide a phenomenological encounter with the liminal space between solid states. The resulting sound world operates in productive tension; chromatic saturation and microtonal drift conjure both the brutality of metallurgical intervention and the quiet patience of cooling, where transformation occurs in the aftermath of heat.
